The View From Rainshadow Bay - Book Review

Hi, sweet friends!
I have yet another book review for you!
Before I share my review
I want to say that this latest book from Colleen Coble is quite remarkable,
and if you enjoy suspense with a touch of tender romance well,
you won't want to miss this book.
I know I told you that I would be back to blogging this last week,
but unfortunately, I was not able to get back in to the groove of things.
Currently, I am waiting for "something"
that I want to share on my blog and return post,
and I have to wait until it's finished.
I am very hopeful that it will "complete itself" this weekend.
Until then, I thank you for your patience.
Love and hugs to you!

* * * * * * * *

After her husband, Jack, dies in a climbing incident,
Shauna has only her five-year-old son and her helicopter charter business to live for.
Every day is a struggle to make ends meet
and she lives in constant fear of losing even more than she already has.

When her business partner is murdered,
his final words convince Shauna that she’s in danger too.
But where can she turn?
Zach Bannister was her husband’s best friend
and is the person she blames for his death.
She’s barely spoken to him since.
But right now he seems her only hope for protecting her son.

Zach is only too happy to assuage his guilt over Jack’s death
by helping Shauna any way he can.
But there are secrets involved dating back to Shauna’s childhood
that more than one person would prefer to stay hidden.

In The View From Rainshadow Bay, suspense, danger, and a longing to love again
ignite amid the gorgeous lavender fields of Washington State.

My Thoughts
Colleen Coble is another author you can't go wrong with.
Time and time again she takes readers on an epic journey through words. . .
words that wrap around your heart and grab your attention
from the very first line you read.
The View From Rainshadow Bay does that,
captures the readers interest and doesn't let go
until that last page is turned and the last line read.
I was on the edge of my seat, my friends. . .
or should I say the edge of my bed since I read this book late into the night
{I simply couldn't put it down}.

The characters were incredibly endearing
and their emotions such as heartache, sadness, and joy,
could be felt through the pages.
Shauna lost her husband, Jack, and her grief is ever so raw and palpable.
I couldn't help but feel her pain,
and when a writer can make you feel things through the story
you know she is a talented author.
Zach was truly amazing  and I have no doubt
the reader will fall in love with him instantly. . .I did
When Shauna and Zach,
two people who haven't spoken to one another since Jack's death,
are thrown together, healing begins to happen for the two of them,
and through that healing a slow and tender love begins to bud.

There is so much going on in this book. . .
a lot of good stuff that will keep the reader's curiosity piqued.
There are twists and turns that the reader won't see coming
and moments that will leave you holding your breath.
Suspense, tension, excitement, romance, and faith can be found in this book;
it doesn't get much better than that now does it, my friends?
And did I mention the book is set in Washington State
amid the beautiful fields of lavender?
It makes for a perfect and lovely setting.
I could almost smell the sweet scent of lavender while reading this story.

Keep in mind that if you pick this book up
you most likely won't be able to put it down.
Happy reading!

This sounds like a fun page turner! I love when a book has a little of everything and the author is able to suck us in so much that we empathize with the characters. I have recently been appreciating lavender since we planted a few of these plants this past summer and I have been using lavender oil in homemade lotions. Such a perfect scent!
