The quieter you become
the more you can hear.
- Ram Dass -
Join me, friends, for a few quiet moments.
Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. . .
close your eyes for a minute
and listen. . .
listen to the sweet quietness.
I've poured the tea and served the cake,
won't you have some?
Take this time to simply be still, my friends,
and in the stillness let us turn our hearts toward the Lord.
Let us praise His Holy name.
- - - - -
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side;
bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
leave to thy God to order and provide;
in ev'ry change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heav'nly Friend
thro' thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
to guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice, who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
and all is darkened in the veil of tears,
then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
from His own fullness all He takes away.
Be still, my soul: the hour is hast'ning on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
- - Kathrina von Schlegel - -
Get lost in the beauty, the stillness, and the peace
of our Heavenly Father.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to the which also ye are called in one body;
and be ye thankful.
- Colossians 3:15 -
In this quiet moment
think upon the goodness of God
and all that He stands for. . .
love
mercy
grace
forgiveness
gentleness
joy
and so much more.
Sometimes we need to take a few minutes out of our busy day
to just breathe and be still.
Reflection upon Jesus Christ
is good for the heart, mind, and soul.
Jesus said unto him,
Thou shalt love the LORD thy God
with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind.
- Matthew 22:37 -
Thank you for joining me,
dear friends.
My soul, wait thou only upon God;
for my expectation is from him.
- - Psalm 62:5 - -
Have a most blessed Lord's Day!

Lovely post.
I'm sitting here in the quietness of morning, before the sunrise, to plan out my day and enjoy the peacefulness of the morning.
Thoughts of gratitude flood my mind, and all the blessings that we are blessed with.
Have a sweet day.

Beautiful, sweet friend. God bless you!
A lovely post.
It's true, sometimes we do need to take a few minutes out of our busy day.
Enjoy the remainder of Sunday and have a blessed week ahead.
All the best Jan
Thank you Stephanie. This was beautiful. I feel I needed this today.
I devoured that cake! It is always important to (eat cake) take time out from our thoughts and be still.
Have a wonderful week,
Andrea
What a beautiful message, Stephanie. One of my favorite hymns. Your graphics are just delightful as well and the cake was delicious!
Cake and tea on a Sunday morning.... and that beautiful hymn! What more could we ask for? Thank you for the reminder to be still. I sometimes get in such a hurry and so over stressed, that I forget to breathe and just take in the quiet and peacefulness that is around (not always, but sometimes). Happy Sunday dear friend. Lovely, lovely post and photos, Stephanie. I am sure that this ministered to many hearts today. It certainly did to mine.
I had never seen that third verse before to "Be Still My Soul" -- but what a wonderfully comforting verse it is. Thank you for sharing the hymn in its entirety.
Blessings to you today!

Thank you, lovely Stephanie, for taking us along with you for a chance to breathe and find peace in Our Lord and Savior. I enjoyed the readings that you shared and your beautiful photos. Oh how I wish I could be there with you in person! I hope you had a wonderful Sunday. Thank you for sharing with us. xx
I was just singing that song yesterday! It is one of my all time favorites, and so very needed.
Have a blessed week, dear sister. Though I seldom comment, I read most every post, and Sunday hymns remain my favorites!
Peaceful Sunday mornings, tea in pretty cups and quiet moments with the Lord...heaven! I have just come in from my morning walk to see the sun rise! I do believe there is nothing grander than seeing the sun cast it's sunbeams over the landscape.....mmm...me thinks there is an allegory here. =) You have put a smile in my morning, dear Stephanie. Enjoy your Sunday. ♥
This was so encouraging, Mrs. Dunsdon, I loved this post! {{smiles}}
You have touched a tender place in my soul today. It has brought new clarity. Thank you.
Be still - it can be so hard for us! Thanks for this peaceful post.
"Be still and know that I am God".
Thank you for this post! It was a sweet reminder of God's goodness. The tile reminds me of the Jonny Diaz song "Just Breathe". :)
amen
A most gracious and beautiful post, Stephanie, thank you.
I never made it here yesterday, but God knew that it was for today that I would benefit from this inspiring posting most.
You certainly had a very calming effect with your lovely words, and that hymn hits the center of the heart.
Your tea in that gorgeous teacup placed on that pretty doily makes for quite a photo.

It is so good to have quiet time each day when you just sit and wait on the Lord, commune with him and let him speak. It sure is a very calming time! Hope your week is going well.
Thank you, Stephanie ❤ I needed that reminder to rest in the Lord and be still before Him. This hymn is one of my very favorites...so glad to see it here and now have it in my heart for the day. You tea and sweet treat setting looks so inviting~i would love to join you if I could :)) Blessings! Ashleigh
Thank you Stephanie for this beautiful posting! Your sharing and scripture are always inspiring!
Reading your lovely post, dear one, brought to mind another Scripture...
"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26. To meditate on the fact that God is my portion forever just causes my heart to quietly rejoice in His goodness.
Hugs to you, sweet friend.
