Showers Of Blessing

And I will make them
and the places round about my hill a blessing;
and I will cause the shower to come down in his season;
there shall be showers of blessing.
- Ezekiel 34:26 -

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

- - Chorus - -
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
- - David W. Whittle - -

It rained, my friends!
It rained here in dry Colorado
and it rained for most of the morning yesterday.
Oh, how it refreshed our dry and parched mountains!
I couldn't help but run outside and soak it in.
Standing there as the rain dropped upon my upturned face
I smiled. . .
I twirled around. . .
and I rejoiced. . .
Rain, sweet blessed rain.
Indeed, we enjoyed "Showers of Blessing."

He shall come down
like rain upon the mown grass:
as showers that water the earth.
- - Psalm 72:6 - -

Blessings and love to you
on this Lord's Day!

Hooray for the Lord's blessing of rain! We've had some here too, after a particularly dry summer so far. You can almost see the plants and trees rising up to gather it in.

Oh, Stephanie, what a blessing indeed for the rain! It's really quite a beautiful thing and especially so when you need it so badly. Thank you for sharing this precious hymn that I still remember singing when I was younger. I don't think I appreciated it nearly as much as I do today. But then again, I know that God draws us ever nearer to Himself as we grow in our knowledge of His mercy and grace and all that He provides and is to us. Praise God for His amazing grace and mercy. It's been a while, and I hope to visit more often. Much love and hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Beautiful showers of blessings in deed!
I must say that I did not know of that verse in Ezekiel. :(
That verse goes perfectly with this hymn, awesome.
Your refreshed flowers, trees and grass look lovely after the rain and I know they are soaking it all in.
My window boxes are looking their best today after the rain.
It's a quiet, gentle day today as we listen to the old time hymns that speak so clearly of God's Scriptures.
I enjoy them on Sunday's.

Have a beautiful restful day~

Dear Stephanie, If only I had known you needed showers I would have gladly shared some from southwest Michigan where we are having so many showers that basements are flooding. I'm glad you had some nice showers of blessings though!

I love this song Stephanie! My friend and her husband recorded themselves singing this and other hymns on a cd just for me. It was such a sweet gesture they did.

Oh, praise the Lord for sending rain to your home! I know you all have been in such need of rain our west and I'm so grateful that the Lord graciously send you...showers of blessing, indeed. I, too, would have been out there twirling round and round with such rejoicing! (I'm now off to find a video so I can listen to this hymn.)

Your photos are exceptionally beautiful, dear Stephanie! The flowers in those planters are so pretty...are they mums?

I hope your weekend was pleasant and enjoyable...hope you have a most wonderful new week ahead {{smiles}}

With love!

There is just nothing to compare to the Lord refreshing and renewing the land after a long dry spell! What a wonderful blessing it has been that He has seen fit to give us plenty of rain this summer, even as we speak! And I love that old hymn as well...beautiful post, sweet friend. Happy Monday!

Glad your dry spell was finally broken. Such lovely images. I tend to hibernate inside during rainy weather and I've forgotten how pretty rain can be!

Oh Praise the Lord! How wonderful to see that wetness on the flowers and deck! We haven't had any rain for almost 3 months... except one evening about a week ago it rained for about 8 minutes... hardly enough to wet our pavement! We sure do need it. I bet everything (and everyone!) got revived there! Blessings to you..... Marilyn
