Great God Of Wonders!

Thine, O LORD, is the greatness,
and the power, and the glory,
and the victory, and the majesty:
for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine;
thine is the kingdom, O LORD,
and thou art exalted as head above all.
- - 1 Chronicles 29:11 - -

 Great God of wonders! all thy ways
are matchless, godlike and divine;
but the fair glories of thy grace
more God-like and unrivaled shine,
more God-like and unrivaled shine.

In wonder lost, with trembling joy
we take the pardon of our God;
pardon for crimes of deepest dye,
a pardon bought with Jesus' blood,
a pardon bought with Jesus' blood. [Refrain]

O may this strange, this matchless grace,
this God-like miracle of love,
fill the whole earth with grateful praise,
and all th'angelic choirs above,
and all th'angelic choirs above.

- - Refrain - -
Who is a pard'ning God like thee?
Or who has grace so rich and free?
Or who has grace so rich and free?
- - Samuel Davies - -

It is possible for Christians
to lose a sense of the infinite power and greatness
of God and make of Him merely a heavenly friend-
a God who is no bigger than our mundane needs.
Our personal and intimate relationship with God
must always be balanced with the realization
that He is still the "Great God of Wonders!"
- - Kenneth W. Osbeck - -

Behold, God is mighty,
and despiseth not any:
he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
- - Job 36:5 - -

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
and his greatness is unsearchable.
- - Psalm 145:3 - -

Lift up your eyes on high,
and behold who hath created these things,
that bringeth out their host by number:
he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might,
for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel,
My way is hid from the Lord,
and my judgment is passed over from my God?

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.
- - Isaiah 40:26-28 - -

As I read the verse in 1 Chronicles 29:11 my heart was overflowing with a fullness as I pondered on those words of His greatness, His power, His glory and his majesty, then as I read that quote from Kenneth Osbeck I thought so very true, sometimes we do go through our day with minimal realization of How Great and Mighty our God is. And let us not forget, He owns everything!

Beautiful reminder you have shared with us on this Lord's Day, thank you!

Have a blessed day~

I do feel there are times, when we go away from the feeling of AWE that God is in our lives and all that he has done for our salvation, giving his son for us, and Jesus dying such an awful death to give us freedom from a life without him.
Love your mums, we just went to the store today and picked some up, I hope they do ok in all this heat we are having, but hopefully it will cool down soon.
Have a wonderful week!

Stephanie, this is a beautiful post. The verses are so appropriate. I really was blessed - albeit rather late. :-) I am planning to share this with my reader in November 2019. :-) I hope all is well with you and yours.
