Simply Blessed

And all at once
summer collapsed into fall.
- - Oscar Wilde - -

Week by week,
day by day,
hour by hour. . .
it's getting that much closer
to being "officially" fall.

Don't you just love it, my friends?
I know I do.

Add some pumpkin flare to your home
by making this easy peasy pumpkin centerpiece.

I found the cute wood boxes at Hobby Lobby
{good ol' Hobby Lobby}
along with the pine cones and sparkly acorns.
Who doesn't love a little sparkle!?

Hobby Lobby had a few options for the wood boxes,
but the "Simply Blessed" and "Give Thanks"
boxes caught my eye.

I added green Spanish moss to the box
and along with the pine cones and acorns
you will find a velvet pumpkin tucked in the middle.

To make a pumpkin
simply cut out a circle from scrap fabric
{it can be velvet, cotton, burlap, or whatever you desire}
and sew a gathering stitch along the edge.
Fill with batting, pull the thread tight,
and sew the pumpkin closed.

For the stem I used some fake green berries
and on the front of the pumpkin is twine,
a shabby flower, and a velvet flower.
And for the finishing touch
I tucked a sign into each box with an autumn quote.

Every year I fall for
pumpkins, bonfires, s'mores,
autumn leaves, apple cider,
and YOU!

Enjoy your day, friends!
Your visits are always a blessing.

These wooden boxes are cute and festive, Stephanie. Don't ya just love Hobby Lobby? I made a trip there recently and always love browsing around. The acorns, pine cones, and Autumn note you added are sweet. Yes, I look forward to this glorious month of pumpkins, hot apple cider, falling leaves, and creative blog friends, like you. : )

I love that quote! And love your arrangement and pumpkin tutorial. This is really the 'direction' I intend to go with my fall decorating . . . when I finally decide to surrender to it haha!

Gorgeous, Stephanie! Very creative and easier than I thought. Thanks for the great directions.
We've had a dip in temperature in the Pacific Northwest. It feels like fall now. Think I'll head over to Hobby Lobby this week!

Very sweet! I love each element in your box. It's probably a good thing that Hobby Lobby is too far from me to just stop by. It would be dangerous for me to walk in there too much! Your embellished pumpkin is so pretty.

Don't you just love Hobby Lobby? I know I do enjoy myself every time I go there. Your pumpkin box is so pretty, dear Stephanie. I love that your pumpkin is velvet. Do you know that I still haven't put out a single fall decoration yet? I really need to start so that when we get back from our trip to Maine to visit our son's family I'll come home to autumn instead of leftover summer stuff. :) Thank you for the inspiration, my friend. xo
