"Are Ye Able?" Said The Master

A Christian is a person who,
when getting to the end of his/her rope,
ties a knot and determines to hand on,
realizing that human extremity now
becomes God's opportunity.
- - Unknown - -

Are ye able," said the Master,
"To be crucified with me?"
"Yea," the sturdy dreamers answered,
"To the death we follow Thee."

Are ye able to remember,
When a thief lifts up his eyes,
That his pardoned soul is worthy
Of a place in paradise?

Are ye able when the shadows
Close around you with the sod,
To believe that spirit triumphs,
To commend your soul to God?

Are ye able? Still the Master
Whispers down eternity,
And heroic spirits answer,
Now as then in Galilee.

- - Chorus - -
Lord, we are able. Our spirits are Thine.
Remold them, make us, like Thee, divine.
Thy guiding radiance above us shall be
a beacon to God, to love, and loyalty.
- - Earl Marlatt - -

But Jesus answered and said,
Ye know not what ye ask.
Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of,
and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
They say unto him, We are able.
- - Matthew 20:22 - -

And whosoever doth not bear his cross,
and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
- - Luke 14:27 - -

The mission of each Christian
is to proclaim and live the Good News
of the gospel and to urge individuals everywhere
to experience a personal reconciliation and relationship
with God.

"Are ye able said the Master, to be crucified with Me" I will go thorough many a day singing those very words. This is one of my favorite hymns that I cling to on those days when I must "tie a knot at the end of my rope" and hang on tight to God. I like what that unknown author wrote.
Lovely post and gorgeous photos as always~

Oh I love the chorus to that song, how he remolds us into the person we need to be.
May we as Christians bring others to know God and have a personal relationship with him!
Have a wonderful week!

It is always easy to say yes when times are easy, but like Peter, when the going got rough, we realize just how weak and poor our flesh is. So very thankful that the Lord understands and His grace is sufficient for all our needs. In Him, we can do all things.. only IN HIM. That is the key. Beautiful thoughts dear friend, so inspiring and encouraging! Stunning photography too :) Blessings and hugs :)
