Singing Praises This Thanksgiving Season

Praise ye the Lord!
O let all that is in me adore him!
All that has life and breath,
come now with praises before him.
Let the Amen sound from his people again;
gladly forever adore him.
- - Joachim Neander - -

I'll praise my Maker while I've breath,
And when my voice is lost in death,
Praise shall employ my nobler powers;
My days of praise shall ne'er be past,
While life, and thought, and being last,
Or immortality endures.

Happy the man whose hopes rely
On Israel's God: he made the sky,
And earth, and seas, with all their train;
His truth for ever stands secure,
He saves the opprest, he feeds the poor,
And none shall find his promise vain.

The Lord pours eye-sight on the blind;
The Lord supports the fainting mind;
He sends the labouring conscience peace;
He helps the stranger in distress,
The widow, and the fatherless,
And grants the prisoner sweet release.

I'll praise him while he lends me breath,
And when my voice is lost in death,
Praise shall employ my nobler powers;
My days of praise shall ne'er be past,
While life, and thought, and being last,
Or immortality endures.
- - Charles Wesley - -

I will praise the name of God with a song,
and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
- - Psalm 69:30 - -

 Bless the Lord, O my soul:
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits.
- - Psalm 103: 1-2 - -

Lovely friends,
there is so much to praise the Lord for
and I want you to know that I am incredibly thankful
for each and every one of you.
You make my life sweeter.

Have a most blessed Thanksgiving!

The words you shared of John Wesley -- very timely as today I learned of a terrible tragedy in the life of a good friend. The Lord truly does support the fainting mind and sends peace that only HE can give. Happy Thanksgiving my friend . . . I am ever more aware even today of how much I have to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving wishes to you and your family Stephanie. You've reminded me that again this year I have forgotten to collect a few acorns to display...now they're covered with snow and it's a tad bit late!
